Dr. Deborah Willis photo talk at RISD tuesday feb 26th

Dr. Deborah Willis is the chair of the Photography and Imaging department at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University (NYU), and is also affiliated with NYU's College of Arts and Sciences, Africana Studies. Her lecture focuses on the role of the camera and photographic image in visualizing historical and contemporary black identities. She was a 2005 Guggenheim Fellow and Fletcher Fellow, and a 2000 MacArthur Fellow, and has pursued a dual professional career as an art photographer and one of the nation's leading historians of African American photography and culture. The program is co-sponsored by RISD's Photography Department.

Follow the road, and at the 2nd traffic light, take a right (College St.).
The RISD Auditorium is on your left.

From Route 195 West Get off at exit 2 (South Main St.);
proceed .4 mile, past the Court House on the right;
RISD Auditorium is just past that, on the left.
Look for on street parking
